The professionalization of foster parents is recent, and their professional recognition is still under discussion. Their primary mission is child protection, based on work with the multidisciplinary team. The question of belonging to this team is discussed here, highlighting various elements from our field survey. The analysis is based on focus groups conducted with the foster parents we work with.
