This article focuses on collaborative logistics in the context of parcel delivery to individuals in urban areas. It investigates crowd logistics as a solution that facilitates receiving and redelivering parcels in case of home delivery failure. Through a modeling and simulation applied to the city of Paris, our results provide the basis for setting up a network of neighborhood individuals, called “voisinsrelais.com,” who are able to receive parcels for a fee. This study increases the awareness of distributors and logistics service providers about this new mode of delivery. It avoids customer dissatisfaction, additional costs, and the environmental impacts associated with redelivery.
